Vape Tank Basics

Sometimes referred to as an Atomiser or Clearomizer, the Vape Tank is an essential component to any vape kit. The majority of vape tanks feature a liquid chamber that the user fills with e-liquid usually by accessed by turning the tank upside down and unscrewing the base. Inside the vape tank is typically where the coil can be found which is usually looks like a little round cylinder with holes in it. The coil is responsible for heating up the e-liquid and turning it into vapour. Bare in mind that all coils die after about a week - give or take - but don't panic as we stock a wide range of coils suitable for most vape tanks.

Mouth To Lung or Direct Lung?

There are two main types of vape tanks available. One type is referred to as a Mouth To Lung (MTL) tank while the other type is known as a Sub Ohm or Direct Lung (DL) tank. MTL tanks are designed to deliver the same sensation as a traditional cigarette and is puffed on in the same manner. On the flip side, DL tanks are designed to produce large amounts of vapour that the user breathes directly down to the lungs and exhales in the form of a large could. DL tanks require extra power and amplify the nicotine effect, meaning most nicotine users that use a DL tank will need no more than 3mg.

Tobacco Products Directive (TPD)

Vaping regulations introduced throughout Europe in 2017, also known as TPD, has restricted the e-liquid capacity of vape tanks down to just 2ml. This means that any vape sold within the EU must not exceed this limit.
